DAS BLASHAUS means woodwind and brass instruments to the max

We are a small shop and specialist workshop for woodwind and brass instruments which has specialised in selling, repairing, modifying and developing brass and woodwind musical instruments since 1988.

The artist and his individual expression is the center of our quest for perfection. We are closely cooperating with many artists to ensure that the musicians needs are always at the very heart of our research.

Over the years, DAS BLASHAUS has become a real insider tip for saxophone and clarinet players. Especially the conversion of vintage Conn 'New Wonder' saxophones to BLASHAUS Converted Conn Chu Berry "BlackPearl" saxophones has triggered great interest in the global music scene.
Lately bass clarinet players have discoverd our new developed BLASHAUS exclusive bass clarinet neck BCH2, a heavy, reinforced bass clarinet neck that provides a more stable, solid playing experience with a very focused sound.

INNOVATION is our passion

Since the beginning we were always searching for a better sound, trying new ways to optimize the handling of the instruments or looking after extended expression.
Have you ever thought about combining a bass clarinet with electronic sensors in order to capture the player‘s actions? Well, we have. (Find out more about SABRe...)
But sometimes it's the little things that matter most. And we are taking care of them too: a perfect neckstrap (Blashaus Exklusive Neckstrap SNS2), an additional Es thumb lever, an individual C / Cis-mechanics for contrabass clarinets, and so on...

DAS BLASHAUS – the secret behind an instruments perfect tone

Sometimes the secret is very simple: a lot of work and passion, many thoughts and more testing. That's the thing we do. So you can concentrate on the thing you do best: playing your instrument.

Our Converted Conn Chu Berry "Black Pearl" Saxophones

Vintage sound and perfect handling:
it is like the best of both worlds.

We built the first BLASHAUS Converted Conn Chu Berry "Black Pearl" Saxophone in 1992. The success was overwhelming. David Murray has been interested and was very much in favor. Jerry Bergonzi, Michael Brecker, James Carter, Christoph Lauer and many other saxophonists tested the instrument and loved it. And it is still one of James Carter's favorite instruments.

In Robert Altman's Kansas City it even became a movie star!
